Ana Huang is an auto-buy author for me, her writing is incredible but I can confidently say that the romance books she writes do not need to be this long. In 400 pages, she can easily hook you in and her spicy scenes never generally miss. However, The Striker just felt dragged out to me, we got minimal spice and a lot of plot filler which wasn’t necessary. Forbidden love and forced proximity get a big tick from me, and I did enjoy the story overall. There is some great banter and comedy in this story which I really love.  **Minor spoilers from here** I am getting a little tired of the third act breakup in romance books however this one was well played out, and I do enjoy getting a grand HEA afterwards. But overall, I’m still not a soccer fan but as Ana is a fantastic author I will still pick up the next book when it releases. ⚽️🩰💕
