Act Like It by Lucy Parker

4.0

My sister-in-law Belinda recommended this book to me ages ago, and I should not have waited so long to jump in! As someone who is pretty picky about contemporary romance, I loved that this series is set in the world of London stage actors. And I cannot resist the fake relationship trope! Lainie is recovering from a humiliating public breakup when the powers that be at the theater determine that in order to rehabilitate the public image of her crotchety costar Richard, he and Lainie have to pretend to date. They’re hoping that she’s wholesome enough to tame his cranky bad-boy reputation. Of course, Richard is an a-hole and has never given Lainie the time of day, so it’s going to require all her acting skills to convince everyone they’re in love. Until they fall in love for real, that is! *swoon* Looking forward to the next book in the series!
