This is a historical fiction, not a fantasy although it is quite fantastically and poetically written! 

I love learning about ancient Mesopotamia! I have a whole lecture series I've been working through and it was amazing to read a novel set in this ancient time! It's really helped me immerse and understand the history and cities better. I love historical fiction for this!!
