don’t go mooning after the stars, when the wide sea is all around you.

this was a hard read, but the end was worth it. i love althea and brashen and amber and malta, but im excited to return to fitz and the fool in the next books.

i usually have a really hard time with justifying on-page rape. but hobb walks a delicate line here where it does not feel gratuitous to include,  it weaves naturally with the core themes of the book re: liveships and agency and slaverys, and it feels that it is taken with appropriate seriousness and horror.
