The Bullet by Iris Johansen

3.0

I don't know if I'm just getting tired of the Eve Duncan series or if the dialogue is becoming predictable or if the book is just not what I'm used to, but it wasn't my favorite. It was interesting having Joe's ex-wife Diane coming into the picture; it adds a new dynamic that we haven't seen before. Eve is a bit jealous when she's around, Joe is rather antagonistic toward her, but of course 10-yo Michael adores her.

I also wonder how many rich terrorist-type super villains there are in the world since they seem to be eliminating one in every book. It feels like they're getting predictable; it might be time to focus on the spin-off series of Catherine Ling or Kendra Michaels and retire Eve and her all-knowing son. That said, I'll still probably read the next one in hopes this was just a one-time thing or that it's because of my mood at the time.
