James & Genevieve: The Perfect End to an Epic Journey

RECLAMATION, the final installment of the Wild White Orchid Trilogy was nothing short of fantastic. This was the most climactic book in the series as our MMC, James Barlow makes a final and desperate attempt to extricate his family from the clutches of the Wild White Orchid Society so that he, Genevieve and their child can live the peaceful life they have always dreamed of.

The book opens with Gen, who has just given birth to their daughter, struggling with postpartum depression. As if James doesn’t have enough to worry about with his family’s safety concerning the Caledonia Society, he now has to be the primary caregiver to his daughter as he tries desperately to help his wife through her depression.

Meanwhile, the stakes get much higher, as James finally makes contact with the Society and is put through series of trials in order to secure his family’s exit from their trapped existence. However, the price he pays may be more than his soul, but the very family he holds dear and is trying to save.

Author, R. Collins has showed up and showed out in this book! She has the gifted talent of crafting complicated, fascinating characters that draw you into their experiences. James Barlow has to be one of the most impressively complex, well-written characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. From INITIATION to ACCLIMATION then finally RECLAMATION, James’ transition from a mild-mannered schoolteacher to an unhinged, morally grey cult leader is unprecedented. Talk about character growth! James’ hell-bent pursuit of dismantling the machine holding his family prisoner and the love he has for Genevieve was solid and irrevocable. This made me love him even more. James shines as the MVP of the entire series as were introduced to so many sides to his personality; a concerned son, a loving husband, a doting father, and him owning his Society roles as judge, jury, and executioner.

Genevieve will tug at your heartstrings as you witness how she copes with body dysmorphia, being a new mother, the alienation of the friends she’s made within the Society, and having a husband who has to do very bad things for the greater good of their family. Gen shows just how strong a woman she is in this book and you will respect her even more than you already have from the previous books.

RECLAMATION is definitely not short on heat. Oh yes, through all of the turmoil, the spice is spicing! I’ll just say James and Gen are VERY comfortable with each other now and are a far cry from the modest couple they used to be! They love trying new things and the heat between them is reminiscent of a five-alarm fire! Please be sure to check the triggers if you’re so inclined. There were also so many tender moments between them that will make you want to cry so prepare yourself. I know I sure did!

The chapter has closed on these two and I’m so glad they received their HEA. It was a hell of a ride but one I wish I could take all over again… and again…. and again! This entire series was phenomenal and I highly recommend them all! Brilliantly done, R. Collins! I cannot wait to see what you have in store next for your readers!

Happy reading!
