Did not finish book.

2.0

I really, REALLY wanted to enjoy this, and I tried my darndest to like it, I promise I did. But it was too long and meandering for one thing--perhaps that's irony since it's a book about women in an MFA writing program, or perhaps it just shows the uselessness of MFA programs lol. Okay, that's mean. I'm sure they're great. I legit almost did an MFA in creative writing, so obviously at one point I thought it might be NOT a waste of my time and money. (On the other hand, I ended up not doing it after all and about five years later entering a different master's program so what does that tell you, probably nothing at all.)

Anyway, back to the book. I couldn't finish. I got I think within three hours of the audiobook's finish line (of 11 or 12 hours), and I was bored and annoyed and not paying attention and just didn't care about the story at all. And I had been that way for the entirety of the 8 hours I'd already listened, minus about 37 interesting minutes in the middle.

So I quit. And I'm not sorry I did. I've moved on to more interesting things and I'm not looking back.
