The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

Its reputation is deserved. Thought-provoking and moving with an interesting slice of viewpoint characters in both third and first person (and one of the latter is a charming sociopath whose head is kinda distressing to hang out in). There was a feeling that some characters were keeping the reader at a bit of a remove which I often find irritating but this time it felt more natural. The little boy maybe was a bit one of those precocious wonder children who are not quiiiiite believable, but such an awesome one that I'll give him a pass.
