This is the seventh book that I have read by this author since December 2023. Rina Kent is my favorite of dark romance author. I’ve become fully immersed in the Rinaverse. I just finished reading her newest book and then decided to finish reading this one. Every couple that I’ve read about in the Rinaverse is an odd pairing but that’s what makes her stories interesting. Jeremy and Cecily are the prime example of what I mean. Cecily is the mama bear of her friend group also she’s reserved and mature. Jeremy is an imposing figure who is drawn to her immediately. Kent has a way of peeling back the cold and intimidating layers from her MMCs and letting readers see how vulnerable they are inside. Each one experienced a trauma that humanizes them. I said there’s another review, but I like how each trauma and psychological issue has been thoroughly researched. Even the female main characters have their own traumas as well. That is what makes these stories realistic in my opinion. I gave God a wrath four out of five stars. Kent’s writing is familar and easy to follow. Her characters are fleshed out and layered. There are three more stories in this series that I have to delve into and I’m excited to do so.
