I think I had the opposite experience going into this book- it expected it to be bad, but it was sort endearing.
now, Jay’s *I care ONLY about boys and sex* wasn’t my thing. and casual hooking up? also not my thing. I didn’t really get why at age 18 he wanted that allll done and ticked off his list (yes I know his list isn’t really like that, I’m glad he made clear of that but still) so half this book is just a hmm *you do you* scenario
also goddammit the ditch the bestie trope. WHYYY
but at least the characters were all fun and sweet, though still the chemistry is sorta sad between Jay and Albert. I goddamn hate insta love but this one was at least a bit more fleshed out than “ooo he’s hot, I’m now in love with him”
