Antiques Roadkill by Barbara Allan

3.0

I gave this book three stars because I had a hard time getting into it and then following the story line. It seemed that the author jumped around a bit and at times I didn't know how the main character came to be where she was. Otherwise it was a fun read with a good story line. I really enjoyed the (parenthesis) thoughts she added in to the narrative.

Brandy Bourne just moved back to her hometown of Serenity after going through a divorce. Vivian, Brandy's mom suffers from a mental illness which plays through the story. During an un-medicated period, Vivian sells all their vintage furniture to a slimy antique dealer. Brandy and Vivian take it upon themselves to try to get the furniture back, but when they stumble upon the antique dealer, dead, the suspicion turns to them. In order to prove their innocence they start investigating the case, which makes them the killers new targets. They must find the killer before he finds them!
