Flame and Starlight by Dana Isaly
This book started slow but once the story picked up the pace it didn’t stop until the very end. Definitely reminiscent of a SJM fae book but it’s own twist, plus much shorter so it’s a very easy read.
Our MMC, Asher, is a love/hate character. Lots of love but we have to know more. Few betrayals/potential betrayals of side characters so I feel like we are constantly wary about who we love in this book. I like the side characters a lot.
The FMC, Alys, is likable but she’s pretty similar to a lot of FMCs. Not annoyingly so, but her and her actions are pretty predictable.
Overall this was a good fae story, some originality and a lot of mystery to be explored in the next book. A nice quick read.
