I don't know why I even got this far. The writing itself is excellent, the world (universe?) is fascinating, and the characters are interesting. But the violence is so omnipresent, it feels like there's no reason to even get to know them, as they will just die in a book or two. After the attack on Mustang, I just had to stop. I shouldn't even have tried to get this far, really. If you don't like violence, this is not the series to read.
