I'll be honest, I bought Shatter Me a long while ago and I picked it up purely for the cover as it's stunning. I was a little hesitant to read it because I honestly didn't think I was going to like it that much but I devoured this book so quickly and I've already placed an order for the next few in the series.
The characters in the book are easy to get along with - Juliette, our MC, is just a poor soul and I love her amazing character development despite the book only being 329 pages long. And Adam, I was so wary of him as at multiple points I didn't know who was the bad guy and who was our hero - deep down I'm still on the fence about him on that but I like his character none the less.
Genuinely, this book was unputdownable. I feel like the rest of the series may be a bit up and down in regards to enjoyment but I'm here for it. Would 100% recommend Shatter Me to anyone who likes a fantasy dystopian read.
Graphic: Confinement and Emotional abuse
Moderate: Child death and Gun violence
