Birds of California by Katie Cotugno

I read this book as a palette cleanser, something quick and easy and not to serious to clear my head and give me something fun.

This book was alright. It had good amounts of quick romance, and kept you thinking what happened to Fiona that made her not want to return. Uses very tired trope of miscommunication - so other this as a reader and watcher. Also feel like the #metoo was hinted at but seemed forced or rushed towards the end of the novel. Not sure this couple would last in real life but I like to think they do.

Had a dream that this had been made into a movie/tv series staring Keegan Michael Key as the main male character, I’m blanking on his name, I think it was Sam? Anyway, if this gets developed somewhere I would watch it. Notes for any potential producers reading this: it would work better as a movie don’t make this a 12-20 episode tv show - not enough story for it.
