this was a good read for the season. i didn’t love it, but i also had to take longer to read it than i normally would like!
i liked the story & nina’s personal growth. i’m intrigued by the different families of magic! i would read the other books just to learn more about the other magic styles.
my biggest complaint is Morty’s representation as a nonbinary character. they use he/they pronouns, but the book only uses he/him pronouns the entire time, and even refers to him as a man. give us better nonbinary rep!!
