I feel like I only enjoyed this book as much as I did because I could relate to it so many times. Especially the idea that as children of immigrants, we only know/see a fraction of our families overseas. There is so much of our family history and so many stories that we don’t know and that we may never know, and that really cut deep for me. However, I also don’t think it does anything revolutionary except make it very apparent how little “good” Muslim representation we have available.
