I really enjoyed this. It's pretty obviously an enemies-to-lovers trope but I like that when it's done well and this was done well. I'm honestly a little in awe of how well they've pulled it off. I kind of expect narratives drawing on tropes and a little on clichés to be stale but this was exactly the perfect amount of I know where we're going but I'm constantly pleasantly surprised by how we're getting there. That alone would be enough to have me coming back for book 2, but the actual overarching plot has a lot more meat and nuance than I would have expected from a romance book, and the perfect amount of fantasy/sci-fi too. I'm intrigued as to where it goes, and look forward to reading book 2.
