They Called Us Enemy
by Justin Eisinger, Steven Scott, George Takei
Another great graphic novel memoir, about a tragic time in history. The camps that held Japanese Americans in the USA in 1942.
I love how easy graphic novels are to take in these important histories. These types of books need to be in class rooms. It’s a great way to consume History, easy to absorb, you can pack a a lot in and it’s enjoyable to read, I mean, tragic… but enjoyable way to consume it.
“Shame is a cruel thing. It should rest with the perpetrators… but they don’t carry it the way victims do.”
Read it, have your children read it, your parents… everyone.
