This was a really good sequel! It didn’t pull at my heartstrings as much as the first one, so it didn’t get to 5 stars, but it was a really enjoyable read and there were a few moments when my heart was genuinely in my throat waiting to see what would happen. There were a lot more complex plot elements in this one, which means some character moments had to be sacrificed, but there were still a lot of good moments between characters overall. I’m just picky and I wanted a little more, especially between unlikely pairings (for one, Sidra and David could’ve had an interesting friendship!). But as a whole, I liked this one a lot, and I very much enjoyed the character developments. The ending also felt very fitting to the world without being too unrealistically perfect.
