initial thoughts: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

jovis. my beloved. love of my life. <3
fr though i adore all the main characters except nisong. i just found her annoying and idk her motivations were kinda flimsy imo. or maybe i’m not being compassionate enough.

actual meaningful commentary:

a lot of people aren’t keen on the multiple narrators and switching between first and third person but i LOVE it. i love it. it keeps me engaged, my attention doesn’t wander at all, that’s the kind of thing i need in a book otherwise i will get distracted very easily.
i also really sympathised with lin, being so overwhelmed with emperor things while dealing with personal struggles and having to maintain a public façade of confidence in order to garner the people’s support. like damn, i was getting overwhelmed too (not a bad thing).

love jovis. love mephi. i love that they’re besties. mephi being like a wise dude spouting philosophical shit and also being like. teenage groot. in the after credits scene of guardians of the galaxy 2

also phalue and ranami. i love them.
