The Rogue's Wager by Christi Caldwell

4.0

TW: mention of past child abuse. A bit of a consent issue in the beginning.

3.5 stars.

I just finished the book, and I’m a bit booty blasted that there’s no epilogue!!!! But that’s not the reason I gave it this rating. I actually quite enjoyed the book. What brought down the rating is Helena and Robert spent too much time in their own heads, and not enough time being present with each other.

This book also exemplary of what happens when you hold too tight to your perceptions of people, and of life. You could easily overlook so many wonderful people and the beauty of life. It was exemplary of how resentment and angry towards someone can really weigh you down. Helena and Robert let their perceptions and resentment inform their thinking and actions for so long and it is lovely to see them finally moving forward from it.

Lovely read. I look forward to Ryker’s story.

Also, is there a book with Beatrice? If so, I would live to read it
