I’m new to reading non-fiction so i found the book challenging at times to read, simply due to pacing. However, I thought the writers provided a thorough account of Oppenheimers early life, work on the atomic bomb, political involvement, the security hearings, and his life after. Bird and Sherwin delved into Oppenheimers ambiguities, ambitions, and interactions with great attention yet also with empathy. They acknowledge the grey-ness and don’t (in my opinion) try to paint Oppenheimer in just black or white.
