The only reason this book has a higher rating than the first one in the series is because of the wedding bit at the beginning. It was hilarious and that broke up the harshness of Declan's personality. However, once again I found it difficult to sympathise with Declan just like with Rowan from book one. His lack of emotional awareness was unrealistic to me.
He did get an emotional glow up though, but given where he was from, it didn't make sense realistically to have " grown" that much.
I loved Iris, and her character arc. She really did save this book. Her journey from self sacrifice to loving herself was lovely to read. How dyslexia rep was handled with her character was also fantastic. Her relationship with Cal was such a beautiful representation of platonic relationships between opposite genders working even when the people have romantic partners.
I do think this book was better than the first one but I also want to just read about billionaires with a range of emotions wider than an angry toddler's. I'm still going to read Cal's book because out of all of them, he's the only one that has a normal believable personality
