I read this after having read one of Sentar’s more recent series (Ard’s Oath). It became quickly clear that his writing has improved noticeably between the writing of this book and the writing of Ard’s Oath.
Saving Supervillains has issues with characterization, motivation, and consistency. The primary love interest’s only consistent personality trait is a pathological codependency on the protagonist. The book itself is repetitive at times and could use a couple more passes with an editor. All that said, the story itself is compelling and interesting, and that kept me engaged despite the books other flaws
