A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

3.0

This book took ages to read, the language slowed me down, and if I felt like luxuriating in a book, this would have been a 5, but felt more like a 3 while I am bogged down in other things, so to be fair I averaged it to 4 stars:) the main character, the count, was a delight, everyone should know a man like him, except there are so few. An elegant man of impeccable decorum, how he gets through the most unusual of circumstance is a treasure to read. At times the author speaks directly to the reader which I also enjoyed, along with the myriad footnotes throughout. The ending was a masterpiece.
