Wow – this was a super intense book with some twists that I was definitely not expecting.
At the beginning of the book I really liked Carly and I understood why she didn’t want to lose everything when it was her husband who was cheating on her. She hated being used by him and didn’t feel wanted or loved. I did understand why she did what she did with the offer but I also knew that she was walking a fine line as things could backfire so fast on her.
I felt bad for Emma with the risk of losing everything with school and also her brother. She needed to provide for him the best she could but didn’t have the money to do so. I got why she agreed to do what Carly asked her to do but she was going down a dangerous path that could result in her losing everything.
I liked the change between Luca and Emma and I really was crossing my fingers that she would be able to get away from Carly. I loved how Luca was with Matthew, Emma’s brother, and I knew that this would change the whole dynamic of everything.
I was shocked at what Luca was willing to do for Emma but I also knew that would make Carly more of a loose cannon.
Towards the end of the book my jaw hit the ground when things happened that I was not expecting at all!! My heart was breaking for Luca but I was really proud of him and what he did!
The very end with Carly and Tripp made me do a double take and I was just blown away!!!
