I’m really in between 3-3.5 on this one. When you get into this book just know that you’re jumping right back in from book 1. No recap, which I was fine with. I read this duology back to back, so that wasn’t an issue for me.
I will say overall this second book was slow in the sense that 70% of the book feels like they were just making a plan ya know?
Overall though, I loved to see the family relationships. That’s what is getting to me and hanging onto a higher rating. To see Bri come together w/her birth family was so special and to see the love between her moms is just the sweetest.
I thought the Greek Mythology was cool. It’s a lot of info dumping so that got a little muddled for me.
I will say that the “romance” between Bri and Marie isn’t really there. They have insta love in the first book which I didn’t mind because the plot was so good, but it was severely lacking in the second.
