What a read.

A lot of the book was tedious to read, but I completely understand why. They serve their purpose. That doesn’t negate how boring a lot of the book was, though I still enjoyed it immensely. The superficial and extravagant ongoings of the MC, Patrick Bateman, served as a stark contrast to the inner workings of his mind. Though we hate Bateman, there was some intimate level of understanding of him.

I laughed a surprising amount during this book, not only due to the nature of the book but because I don’t don’t laugh when reading often.

I wish we could’ve learned more about Bateman and his family dynamics/history, but that’s the arm chair psychologist in me talking. We learned a sufficient amount to make Bateman even more of an enigma.

It was a very difficult read at points. But something I would read again.
