Ivy and the Cop by Selena Kitt

5.0

Second chances are often about seeing the person properly for the first time.

Loved that this was a second chance romance! I'm a huge fan of giving someone another shot at love, especially when it's young love that falters because of decisions made as young people.

Ivy is a college-aged young woman who lands herself stranded because she isn't exactly the best at planning ahead for "just in case of emergency" events. Her car breaks down while her cell is dead thanks to texting a girlfriend all night and she has no way to get help except to start walking. Lucky for her Patrick -a cop and her former flame- shows up to save the day at exactly the right moment!

Patrick spoke volumes to me because he's a simple man. He's a good guy who wants to be a good guy. Being a cop has been a part of who he is for as long as he can remember and Ivy has to come to accept that it's a part of him rather than a job he's chosen to pursue for them to be together.

There's a lot of passion, a few laughs, and a lot of love along the way in this one. It had a very young-romance feel to it which thrilled me. It was an all around great read filled with situations I could relate to, characters easy to love, and enough heat to make the pages sizzle without being simply a tawdry romp. Five stars from me!
