Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

5.0

This is everything that is good and happy in the world combined into one book. A part of me is crushed that I'd not picked up this book until this year, but, on further reflection, I think this was a brilliant time to read the series. Honestly, being reminded of pure, unbridled happiness during a time when I'm experiencing so much burnout and fatigue is something that I highly appreciated. Life is so beautiful, nature is so beautiful, and it's so lovely to be curious about the world.
Avonlea is officially my happy place.

P.S. does anyone know where I can find a Gilbert Blythe of my own? Where can one apply to get a childhood rival who grew up along with me and is my intellectual equal? Totally just asking for scientific purposes, and nothing more.
