The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde
4.0

Another cracking book from Jasper Fford, which is especially pleasing for me as I didn't particularly enjoy the last of the Thursday Next series that he wrote. This book, set broadly in the same world, has a great set of lead characters, all of whom have depth and well developed human (or alien, in one case) quirks. It also has an intriguing plot, and the charming self-referential humour that is so characteristic of Jasper Fford. The fourth wall is if not quite broken, at least has a few good lines ricocheted off it.
