Janet Evanovich has a very simple, direct way of writing. She uses it to great effect for humor, but that's all I can say for this book. Wicked Appetite started out funny, but even that wore down and by the end it really wasn't all that funny anymore. The romance is spectacularly bad, the villain is just an edgy sideshow, and the plot is eh. Needless to say, I will not be continuing this series.
