tildyteacake 's review for:
Amazing Grace Adams
by Fran Littlewood
Was looking forward to reading about a menopausal (peri in this case) woman and a different pov on motherhood and female aging. However, I did get half way and was willing the book to get to the point - it was clear there was some awfulness that was as yet unsaid, and when all that did come to light it almost felt too rushed. I have a nearly 15yo daughter so the relationship with Lotte was interesting (especially in light of the unsaid thing) but her particular plot point felt a bit clichéd to be honest.
Overall an ok read. I hope it does well so publishers give us more female over-40 protagonists.
