This was an odd one. Admittedly not my typical genre. The format was ideal as I usually shy from historical fiction, so the future drew me in, yet ironically the 1930s were the highlight. I found the men were mostly richly drawn (lomax’s character was quite trite), and the women were very one dimensional, a large missed opportunity. The way the story was neatly explained away in the end was nothing more than a summary and felt unimaginative.
