Started out good but ultimately didn't care for the last half of the novel. The characters weren't entirely likeable, except for one or two, but I enjoyed this as it fit in with the plot. I think I would sum it up as the magic system didn't really work and actions didn't seem to have consequences. However, the intial action and some characters made the novel worth reading.
Moderate: Bullying, Fatphobia, Gaslighting, Child abuse, Death of parent, Physical abuse, Body shaming, Murder, and Violence
Kinda wish there was a bit more of an original take on some of the themes. The power of love saves the day with the heroine finding her inner talent and finally making friends...The approaches towards abuse, bullying and mental health were a bit better though.
