This was such a fast and fun story, and the characters were delightfully thick-headed and sweet, but some of the bigger drama felt rushed. If the book had either gone full cozy (more poetry, more wooing, no politics) OR added another 100 pages to flesh out the world, the pacing would have been better. There were also some small story planting/payoff/continuity things that bothered me or I would rate it higher
