The Lost Library: Book One in the Arcanum Sanctum Trilogy by B.T. Sinclair

3.0

thank you to sinclair for providing me with a free ebook in exchange for an honest review! this is a really interesting concept. the beginning reminded me of fantasy books like lotr, name of the wind, and tower of dawn--a classic fantasy. sinclair also writes beautifully and descriptively, creating rich scenes. my attention wasn't hooked until the end of the book, but the cliffhanger ending was fantastic!

the concept of the lost library reminded me of the atlas six's library of vast knowledge. tomo and lia's friendship is very wholesome. my favorite character of this book was bates because i love a creepy character. i really hope book two has more on him!!

the main issue i took with this book was the pacing. it's a fairly short novella at 77 pages, so it felt like the backstory was a bit rushed. otherwise, it was such a fascinating and fun concept, executed in a magical dark academia world!
