The Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley
5.0

It is rare to find epic fantasy books that have interesting female characters *cough* Tolkien, you suck at it *cough* and even though Brian Staveley had the basis for it in the first book, my one complain was that they didn't do much of anything. Lookig at it now, I see that the first book was all a major buildup to the gigantic cluster fuck we find ourselves at by the end of this second book.
And I say that in awe and marvel at this books, because this is true adult fantasy (a genre coined by George GRrrrrrr Martin followers, among others, becuase the books have the sexxxy timez), but here is about greys. This is what is so interesting about this trilogy. They are all sure they're doing what is right and good.
And by the time they realise who their real enemy is, they have managed to almost destroy each other.

Looking forward to the next book.
Also, I listened to the audiobook, there is not enough praise to be landed on Simon Vance voice and interpretation.
