The Girl in the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz
3.0

Although this series is always entitled "The Girl..." I have always been as interested in the journalist character, Mikael. In that respect, this book did not disappoint - the continuation of his story from the original Millennium trilogy was very enjoyable and flowed on in a very natural way. I was a little more disappointed with the characterisation of Lisbet Salander (the eponymous "Girl...") who didn't feel like quite the same character that I remember. That may just be me, it is a while since I have read the books!
But I had heard complaints that Lisbet was not in the book enough, and I think that is an unfair criticism. Indeed her presence seemed to permeate the book, even when she wasn't actively present in scenes, and notwithstanding my minor reservations above I would certainly like to read the next in the series, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, undemanding and engaging thriller.
