The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man by Jonas Jonasson, Rachel Willson-Broyles

2.0

the first was so good!!! I guess it's my own fault for having high expectations, but I really didn't realize how political this would be. And not a funny political. An annoying, cynical, whiny political. I never realized the first was supposed to be political, and I like it a lot better not knowing. If you ever wanna ruin the magic of a book, look no further than the sequel.

I know this is harsh, and the book was pretty good, just not nearly as good as the first. The characters seemed different, main characters from the first disappeared in the second without a words explanation, and not to mention the 11 yr plot hole, the first being set in 2005 with Allan 100 and the second set in 2016 or 2017 with Allan 101... That was hard to get past.

Most people come to fiction to not have to hear about politics and how people are terrible and the world sucks. Im not sure why that was such a prevalent theme in this book. I'm glad it was an easy read and relatively fast paced, just so I could get the the end quicker.

Overall, I adored the first, it was hilarious and fun and lighthearted, and the sequel? Disappointing.
