I like books like this. They might be trashy, but I think that's an unfair way to describe books with strong female characters, a narrative driven plot, and a consideration of issues important to a female audience. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of fashion, old money, sex and escapism to go with the bigger issues of work, family, career and autonomy.
Pagan, Maxine, Kate and Judy provide a fantastic example of female friendship. They support each other, through 'sick and sin' and drive each other to succeed in their careers and lives. These are girlfriends to aspire to.
I started on Kindle, but bought it in print. It can go with 'Valley of the Dolls' the notorious 'Riders', 'Hollywood Wives' and I'll have a section on my shelf where I display with pride my classic trash.
