Ignoring the fact that this book heavily romanticizes two awful, awful men of Greek mythology, it was compelling and very quotable.

The entire book is from Patroclus’ perspective. We follow Achilles on his journey to becoming the warrior that he is prophesied, all while seeing his more human side.

I admit that I may have been blinded by the flowery prose, but it’s not a flawless work. Achilles worsens as the book moves along, and everyone sucks when compared to Patroclus. I liked Briseis, though.
