This was actually a pretty decent book, but there were a few moments that made me insanely annoyed. Mainly because google is free, and that's all it would take to make sure certain details in your book are accurate
Firstly, the good. I love the characters. They don't pretend to be something they're not. So far, they each have very individual personalities, and I would know who's POV it was without being told
The plot does feel like it's plotting, though a bit slowly. We have whoever X is as well as the minor side plots that have been set up. It feels pretty solid, though a little predictable
What's bugging me, though, is that the author clearly needs to do research on certain things. For example, if you want to make Victor this mad genius, at least make sure the man can tell the difference between a fast heart rate and a heart attack. Wanna say he heart rate is double 60, that's not *too* bad, but double 100?! Nah, she should be in hospital.
The other thing was the complete ignorance of tattoo etiquette. No cleaning of the skin. No stencil. Not even a pen drawing first. This man just magicked his machine around, too. I don't care if he learnt in jail or not, people still know about basic hygiene and stencils, damn. I speak as someone who had a bikey tattoo me 💀
Anyways, yes I'm nitpicking, but tbh these things did take me out of the story, so I've gotta be honest. Those parts could've been amazing if only they were done properly.
Overall, this story isn't literary gold or anything, but it does scratch something in my brain. Plus, that cliffhanger at the end made me want to immediately pick up the next book
