This book started out much too slow for me. I’ve read other Ruth Ware books that sucked me in immediately, but it took some time for me to get into this one. Once the story got going and became more intense, the momentum was great and I enjoyed it a lot. I’d say great for a read in the middle of winter with snow coming down (though where I live it doesn’t snow, but I had rain). The setting is claustrophobic in a good way, and I enjoyed the locked room whodunnit approach of the book. I didn’t have much attachment to the characters as a whole, but that’s generally true for me in most thriller/horror type books, since the key is more plot driven than character. Definitely fun overall, and even more impressive a read as someone who has tried and failed miserably at skiing.
