Salvation Day by Kali Wallace

3.0

This was presented to me as a horror, and it does miss the mark concerning that specific emotional response (for me). Though, the blurbs do mention plenty of thriller- and that works well here. I would definitely say it contains elements of horror, but I would recommend this book to those who enjoy space thrillers more. I did have an enjoyable time reading the book. Both protagonists were interesting, especially as their goals contrasted. The plot is predictable but not in a bad way, and a derelict spaceship, infectious rage, and mass deaths are classic elements for a reason. Despite the cardboard cutout-level of characterization for Adam Light, there are still complexities in group/governmental morality. There is still a hint of mystery, plenty or tragedy, and a theme of hope.
