Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov
3.0

Nabokov is so smart, so sly, crafts brilliant descriptions with such seeming effortlessness, and so offhandedly funny. Though I quite enjoyed the book, I also found it a puzzler, which I'm sure is just what he'd want from a reader. An affectionate portrait--of an academic bumpkin. Does it go anywhere? Nope. A pleasure from moment to moment? Yes.
