for the least part the plot is nothing new, it follows the classic beats of the "gay coming of age." but it is given some rays of new light as it focuses on a sami boy. it's beautifully written (translated) and i loved the way it handled the disconnect between his cultural identity and his homosexuality and how he finds a way to bridge them. a lovely book.
