A really interesting re-telling of history. Tense and unsettling, though somewhat lacking in action. It felt as if many of the characters (particularly the protagonist) were quite passive though this certainly added to the helplessness of the whole plot. Overall a really good read, beautifully descriptive, insightful and tragic.
