I rather enjoyed this book. The cover art made me believe it was for a younger audience but it is definitely for at least 11 year old. There was discussion of slavery, the slave trade and a white privilege in a way. As well as some other topics leads me to believe that middle school students are the target audience. I think that it was a decent mystery romp with fun supernatural aspects mixed with skepticism. I would definitely recommend.
